I hadn't heard that Wes was laid off. Ash was laid off as well, its hard when he is the only bread winner in the family but he has really not been happy in Construction Management and says it will be a blessing in the end. Ginny keeps telling me that if Grandma Sammy was around she would tell us to let our kicks become boosts! So, we are trying to stay positive and formulate a better future for his career. The thing I am currently hating is getting everyones two cents on the matter! Have you had much of that? Everyone has an opinion about what we should do and it is getting frustrating! I know in the end we will be fine, it will just take a bit to figure it out. Good luck, your both so talented and hard workers, I am sure things will work out fabulous!

That really stinks about Wes's job. I don't really know Wes, but for some reason I can totally see him as a web design / coding wizard. Besides that, it is really fun stuff.

ah, we're in the same boat (Mark just got laid off), except I don't work... that is, if you don't consider 3 kids work. :)
I just have to believe that something good is in store for us and that ultimately we will be of more use to the Lord in a home than on the streets!

I hope that everything works out, but I have no doubt it will!! If you need a helping hand for those to do lists (especially stuff outside) give Scotty a call--he gets so bored during the summer, so I'll volunteer him!

I think you have a great attitude for the situation. Leaving a job can be very empowering. When I quit a job I hated in December 2007 it was one of the best days of my life.
I hope everything turns out Ok. I am sure it will.

Laid-off husbands can be tricky creatures. Two good friends of mine are battling the same instincts you have: to brainstorm, share contacts, edit resumes, etc. The Wall Street Journal has an interesting article today called "double pink slips" or something close to that.

Best wishes to your husband in his job search.

dude, i took a grant proposal writing class last semester and i think it was the hardest class of my life! i didn't know wes got laid off! but it seems like things are going well for you anyway. i'm glad you get to work from home and be your own boss. there is really nothing better than that.
